Serious game is serious?
Game Discussion [06-20-09]
In game help is to be discussed here, this is completely out of character and open for anyone.
This is a thread of ideas and options for anyone at any time.
Generally, I would like to see options, opinions, questions that are positive or negative so that I can do all that I can to make sure we all enjoy the game.
Question #1, I pose to the players; How serious a game do you want to play.
Story driven and very spicific to the turn of events?
-or-
More open to character expansion and less dependent on story continuity?
I am used to doing both. But, I do not believe in rules heavy in either environment. So no, serious does not mean rules heavy. Serious means the tightness of the leash on IRL circumstance. Also, in a serious game, the characters impact on the story will be more impact-full and their actions cause chains of events that help or hinder said character and others. So choose.

Re: Game Discussion [06-20-09]
Thats a tough question. Personally i think i would prefer a more open ended plot.

Personally, I'm in favor of a more serious game, mainly because I enjoy a developed and coherent storyline, where the character's effect on the world is clear but not overtly so
